Pair of Italian Baroque Revival Giltwood Wall Brackets with Cherub Motifs, Mid-20th Century A decorative and well-executed pair of hand-carved giltwood wall brackets, dating from the mid-20th century, in the Baroque Revival style. Each bracket features a prominently carved winged putto (cherub) seated on a stylised shell, framed by deeply scrolling acanthus leaves and floral ornament. The top surface is shaped in a classical demi-lune form with an egg-and-dart carved edge. The carving is crisp, expressive, and richly gilded in a warm toned gold leaf. Dimensions: Height: 38 cm (15 in) Width: 38 cm (15 in) Depth: 18.5 cm (7 1/4 in) Condition: Good condition consistent with age. Surface wear to the gilding, small losses to the high points, and minor age-related cracks in the wood. The backs retain original hanging plates. A true pair (mirrored design), offering bold decorative appeal and classical charm. Ideal for framing mirrors, fireplaces, or flanking entries in traditional interiors.
