Large and Heavy Mahogany Console Table with Reeded Frieze and Fixed Marble Top – c.20th Century An imposing and well-proportioned curved console or hall table in the neoclassical manner, likely mid-20th century. This impressively heavy piece features a bow-fronted form with six square tapering legs and a deep reeded frieze running across the front and sides. The top is constructed with a solid slab of black marble or stone, fixed in place, offering a striking contrast to the polished mahogany-toned woodwork. Condition: Structurally strong and very heavy. General surface wear consistent with age, including scuffs, minor losses to the veneer, and a more noticeable chip to the front apron (see photographs). The marble top is in good order overall, with natural surface markings. Dimensions: Height: 75 cm Width (front curve): 198 cm Width (back curve): 118 cm Depth at centre: approx. 56 cm
