WWI & WWII RAF Medal Group to A.M.3 W.C. Jones, R.A.F. – 9 Medals A well-presented and historically interesting group of nine British military medals, believed to have been awarded to (or retained by) Air Mechanic 3rd Class W.C. Jones, Royal Air Force. The group spans both World Wars and includes a named and matching WWI pair. Comprising: British War Medal 1914–1920, named to A.M.3 W.C. JONES. R.A.F. Victory Medal 1914–1919, named to A.M.3 W.C. JONES. R.A.F. 1911 Coronation Medal for King George V & Queen Mary (unnamed, as issued) 1939–1945 Star Africa Star Pacific Star France and Germany Star War Medal 1939–1945 Defence Medal The WWI pair are officially impressed and clearly attributable. The WWII group is unnamed, as issued, but may plausibly relate to later service by the same man or to an immediate family member. Several original and replacement ribbons are included, and the medals are in sound, untouched condition. The Victory Medal shows some fraying to the original ribbon, and the WWII medals retain varied patina and signs of wear.
