Versailles 9ct Gold Wristwatch – London 1990, Swiss Quartz Movement A fine and stylish vintage Versailles gentleman’s wristwatch, with a curved tonneau-shaped case in solid 9ct yellow gold, fully hallmarked for the London Assay Office, 1990, with the sponsor’s mark S.&Co., lion’s head town mark, and gold fineness 375. The white guilloché-style dial is signed Versailles, with applied gold-plated Roman numerals, slender gold-tone hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock. The lower dial is marked Swiss MVMT, indicating a Swiss quartz movement. The reverse of the case is stamped Sapphire Crystal, 3 ATM Water Resistant, and 9K/375, with additional gold marks to the inner case edge and clasp, including a set of scales stamped 375. Fitted with a later brown lizard-grain leather strap, previously worn but in presentable condition and very wearable as is. The gold case shows light surface wear and minor marks consistent with age and use, particularly to the reverse and edges. The dial is clean, and the movement is running at the time of listing. The case measures approximately 4.3 cm high by 3.1 cm wide (excluding crown), with a total length of 25 cm including strap – a smart and understated late 20th-century Swiss wristwatch in hallmarked gold, combining discreet refinement with everyday practicality.
