Louis XV Style Giltwood Banquette A decorative Louis XV style giltwood banquette of generous proportions, raised on elegant cabriole legs joined by a shaped X-form stretcher centred by a carved roundel. The serpentine frame is enriched with scrolling foliate and shell ornament, retaining a warm gilt finish with attractive age-related patination. The shaped seat is upholstered in gold damask fabric with an all-over foliate pattern and finished with brass stud detailing. The flowing Rococo-inspired silhouette and decorative carved frame make this an eye-catching furnishing piece, suitable for a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or reception room. Dimensions Height: 78 cm Width: 120 cm Depth: 78 cm Condition Good vintage condition with age-related wear to the gilt finish and minor surface marks consistent with use. Upholstery remains clean and presentable. Structurally sound.
