Decorative Alabaster Bowl with Mother of Pearl Lid & Porcelain Bird Finial – Silver Mounted, London 1922 An unusual early 20th century decorative bowl comprising a carved alabaster base with silver-mounted collar, and a domed mother of pearl lid surmounted by a small porcelain bird. The silver mount is fully hallmarked for London, 1922. The bird finial is nicely modelled and painted, and may be by Royal Copenhagen, though unmarked. The piece has a charming period character and would suit a dressing table or display. Dimensions: 20.5 cm diameter x 10 cm high Hallmarks: London, 1922 (maker's mark rubbed) Condition: Wear and small imperfections consistent with age. The lid has an old repair and minor chips and cracks to the mother of pearl. Some rubbing to the silver. Sound overall and displays well
