Five-Piece Art Deco Sterling Silver & Faux Tortoiseshell Vanity Set, Birmingham 1923 An elegant five-piece English vanity set from the Art Deco period, crafted in sterling silver and faux tortoiseshell. Made by F.H. Adams & Co, each piece is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1923. The set includes a hand mirror, two hairbrushes, and two clothes brushes — all featuring rich faux tortoiseshell panels inlaid with silver pique wreath motifs. The sterling silver mounts are finely shaped and clearly stamped. The mirror retains its original bevelled glass, while the brushes are fitted with natural bristles. The faux tortoiseshell exhibits a beautiful mottled pattern typical of the period. Dimensions (approx.): Mirror: 26 x 13 cm Hairbrushes: 23 x 7 cm Clothes brushes: 16 x 4.5 cm Condition: In good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age. Minor bristle thinning to one brush and a small loss to the silver rim of the mirror, as shown. Hallmarks clear throughout. A finely made and well-preserved example of early 20th-century English dressing table silver.
