Victorian Mourning Ring with Purple Glass Stones c.1860 This Victorian mourning ring is centred with twelve purple glass (paste) stones, set in pinch-style settings. The stones are arranged in a cushion-shaped design, framed by a rose-coloured border, with brown hair woven into the centre — a classic and poignant feature of mourning rings. The head of the ring, dating from the mid-Victorian period (1850–1880), was likely originally designed as a brooch before being converted into a ring. It is mounted on a later 9ct yellow gold shank, featuring split shoulders and decorative wirework. Key Features: Date: Victorian c.1860 Material: Purple glass (paste) stones, rose-coloured border, brown hair Setting: Later 9ct yellow gold shank with split shoulders and wirework Weight: 5.21 grams Ring Size: Q Very good antique condition
