Vintage Japanese Decorative Silk Print – Pheasants beneath Wisteria A vintage Japanese decorative print on fabric, depicting a pair of pheasants beneath cascading wisteria in a stylised landscape. The design is rendered in muted lavender, blue and grey tones with areas of soft gold embellishment, drawing influence from traditional Japanese woodblock and Nihonga styles. The image is printed on a silk or rayon-blend textile, set behind glass in a gilt faux bamboo frame with a wide brown mount. Date: c.1975–1995 Origin: Japan Medium: Silk or silk-blend fabric print with metallic accents Frame size: 72.5 x 60 cm approx. Condition: Good vintage condition. A little surface wear to the frame and minor age-related toning to the mount. The print remains clean and displays well.
