Vintage Thai / Siam niello-style letter opener or paper knife, approximately 20cm in length, complete with its original fitted box.

The handle has a black niello-style ground with raised silver-coloured decoration, featuring a traditional Thai dancer/deity figure with scrolling foliate designs. The piece has an ornate dagger-style form with decorative mounts, small guard and tapered blade.

The original box is marked V. Thailand Jewelry, Bangkok, Thailand, suggesting it was likely made as a Thai jewellery/giftware souvenir piece.

Condition:
Good vintage condition overall, with age-related surface wear, tarnish to the metal. The box shows wear, marks and age-related staining. Please see photos for details.
