Theodore Alexander Style Hardwood Writing Desk with Fitted Interior
A finely crafted hardwood writing desk of elegant serpentine-fronted form, inspired by Georgian and colonial designs. The hinged upper section opens to reveal a fitted interior incorporating pigeonholes, small drawers and a tooled leather inset writing surface. Below are five drawers arranged around a long central drawer, retaining decorative brass handles.
Raised on square tapering legs united by shaped stretchers, the desk displays attractive figuring and a rich warm patina throughout. Combining traditional craftsmanship with practical functionality, it offers useful storage while serving as an impressive writing or library desk.
The quality of construction, sophisticated design and attention to detail are reminiscent of pieces produced by Theodore Alexander.
