Air Mail cover from Durban to Wynberg with the remains of a 2d and 4d air stamp, severely burnt at the edges, with printed Dept. of Posts letter explaining that it was damaged in the crash and subsequent fire of the aeroplane conveying the mails between Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, also a photo of the wrecked plane. The aeroplane crashed in a storm at Sir Lowrys Pass killing the pilot and two passengers, only about 60 letters were recorded most of which were badly burnt and few of which now survive. A scarce crash cover.
