Entire letter from solicitors in London to Dr. Mc Whirter in Geelong, Port Philip, Australia just before establishment of the separate colony of Victoria on 1st July 1851. The letter refers to satisfactory wool sales and to receipt of Dr. Mc Whirter's Persia from the East India Company. The front of the entire has the scarce 'Forwarded from The Jerusalem, London' mark of the famous London Coffee shop. Manuscript "per Gitana 15th July 1850' and arrival postmark 'Geelong / Oc 27 1850 / Port Philip'.
