Cover (reverse partly missing; partly opened out to display backstamps) with 1d red cancelled by dumb upright oval of horizontal bars. Backstamped "OC 30/R.P.O./1868". A scarce datestamp, which appears to have a connection with Royal Household Mail. This cover is addressed and signed by Sir Thomas Bidulph, Keeper of the Privy Purse 1867-1878, formerly Master of the Household to Queen Victoria. An intriguing item.
