This piece is a restrike (using original plates) from 1973 of the original lithograph printed in 1966, produced as a two-pass, five-colour offset lithograph.
The original painting for 'Magic Flute' was commissioned for the opera's new home at the Lincoln Centre, New York, with Chagall designing the iconic set and costumes.
